Houston's ten most popular ZIP codes searched online by home buyers in 2002
West University and Southside Place topped online real estate broker's list when eRealty announced Houston's ten most popular ZIP codes searched by area home buyers on eRealty.com in 2002. They are:
- 77005 (Southside Place and West University areas)
- 77006 (Montrose area)
- 77007 (Memorial Park area)
- 77479 (Sugar Land and Greatwood areas)
- 77008 (Heights area)
- 77019 (River Oaks area)
- 77478 (Sugar Land area)
- 77057 (Galleria area)
- 77024 (Hunters Creek, Piney Point and Bunker Hill areas)
- 77056 (Tanglewood and Galleria areas)
"West University Place and Southside Place continue to attract Internet home buyers," said Andrew Boyd, market director for eRealty's Houston office. "Besides their excellent schools and proximity to downtown and the medical center, they offer affluent home buyers a quality of life not found in other areas of the city."
Boyd adds that the top ten areas boast a high concentration of upwardly mobile, affluent professionals who are heavy Internet users. The attraction to these areas is compounded by a stable growth in new home construction whether it's new town homes inside the loop and Galleria or single family detached homes in Sugar Land and Hunters Creek.
The Ten Most Popular ZIP Codes Searched study is based upon the number of eRealty registered users who have saved a specific ZIP code within their home search criteria. According to the California Association of Realtors®, 41 percent of home buyers use the Internet as an information source in the real estate process.
